Michael Angelo Saulsberry, as a member of the R&B group Portrait, caught the tail end of the New Jack Swing era, shooting as high as #3 on the Billboard 100 in 1992 with "Here We Go Again." His most popular hits with Portrait however, are not the records that resonated with Steppers. Songs like "Satisfied," "U Know," and "Here's A Kiss" are classics in the dance arena, and Portrait killed these classics for the first time at Sarah Teagles "Black and White Ball" in Atlanta during Labor Day.

While Portrait seems to be slowly increasing their performance dates, what producer Michael Angelo Saulsberry has demonstrated more than anything since the early 90's, is that he understand's good music. That's why it should come as no surprise that Michael, brother of popular Stepper Dwain Saulsberry, produced two incredible records on El DeBarge's new album. One of the songs, "5 Seconds" was mentioned in an earlier article on El BeBarge and could very well be a Steppers banger. The other record "Sexy Lady", albeit a little too fast for Steppin', features rapper Fabolous and is equally dope. When you get a chance, head over to Itunes, pick up the records and let ChiStepper know what you think!
